My name is David Leiter. I’m an investor first, and a publisher of content on how to invest, second. I only started writing about investing because I saw so many friends and acquaintances, or read stories, of people losing their money in bad investment deals (private deals between individuals, crypto schemes, wild trading programs, multi-family syndications, and other “hot” overhyped investments). What seemed obvious to me as not a great investment was difficult for most to distinguish. Out of frustration, I wrote the 20 rules to know to stop making dumb investments and sent it to friends. The response was overwhelmingly positive. It inspired me to talk more and help more people. I started a WhatsApp group, then did an event at my house (in the “batting cage” building on my property, previously owned by an MLB player). From there, I was invited by Tony Robbins to speak on his stage, and I continue to do so today. In 2025, I signed a book deal with Wiley, and my mission is clear. HELP YOU BECOME A SMART AND SHREWD INVESTOR, who cannot be taken advantage of, and who can spot the difference between bad investments and those truly great ones. I have been investing since 1995, and originally worked on Wall Street at Credit Suisse First Boston in the late 1990's. It was there that I witnessed first hand my first bubble, the dot-com frenzy.
